This year the Endless Foundation worked in conjunction with the Starlight Foundation to help make a difference in the lives of a family in need.
The McDonald family and especially their twin children Justin and Sarah longed for an outdoor spa to be installed in their very backyard. Individuals who are ill or have a disability can benefit greatly from the many health and wellbeing benefits that spas offer.
As Starlight has limited funds, they were only able to cover part of the costing, so the Endless team stepped in to help get the twins into an Endless Spa suitable for their needs. A large Hydro Spa Pool was selected and the Endless Foundation was more than happy to help!
Obviously installing a spa involves a lot of rules and regulations as well as several trades and materials. There were several individuals as well as companies that also decided to help Endless and Starlight achieve this goal.
Endless Spas would like to recognise all the helping hands that donated their time and expertise to make this amazing Starlight wish come to life.
Firstly, Endless approached Jason Singh from Zonne Building Consultants to obtain a permit. Jason was quick to put up his hand and do the permit at no charge, our first win for the McDonalds and project costs.
A big thanks goes out to Leigh Phillips, the electrician who kindly donated his labour to connect the electrical wiring to the spa. Leigh also arranged the kind donation of all electrical materials from a well known electrical company, AWM Cowes and thanks to them as well.
The spa is a large 3.2 x 2.3 x 900mm spa weighing around 680kg and had to be craned over the McDonald’s house in Keysborough. One of the few truck crane companies with a 32m capability is Plunkett Cranes Dandenong. Our experience here was that we would be up for an $880.00 cost. However we were pleasantly surprised when Plunkett’s rang to say that they wouldn’t be charging for this job! A big thanks to all staff there as some donated their labour free, and Plunkett’s cranes a big thanks from us at Endless.
Next thing was the pool fencing, although Endless paid for this it was at a greatly reduced cost and big thanks to Big Johns Pool fencing for their efforts. Fencing in place, the Endless service department commissioned the pool and delivered the steps and stainless steel rail to enable easy access.
Finally we will call Jason to get the final council approval and the McDonald family can use the spa.
We wish the McDonald twins and their family all the happiness in the world and hope they enjoy their brand new Endless spa.
Another Endless Foundation and Starlight job “well done to all concerned”.
