Looking after your spa cover will help your cover last for many years. Here are some great tips on spa cover maintenance:
What products you’ll need:
1. A gentle non-abrasive cleaner – we suggest Vinyl Protector Spray
2. A damp cloth
3. A cover protectant
The most common cause of fading, cracking and cover deterioration is the use of damaging products. Vinyl is similar to leather, and should be treated delicately.
Products to avoid:
– Alcohol based cleaners
– Bleach
– Detergent / dishwashing liquid
– Oil
Some cleaners can strip the clear coating of vinyl which leaves the cover exposed to fade and crack.
Steps to Cleaning your hardcover
For especially tough areas like thick dirt or bird droppings try spraying the cleaner directly onto the surface and leave it soak for 1-3 minutes. Repeat if necessary.
Prolonging the life of your cover – it’s in the water!
By ensuring your water chemistry is balanced you will protect your cover from puffiness, stitching disintegration and discolouration. Imbalanced water is a major contributor to cover damage.
It also is a good idea to clean your cover every 1-3 months so ensure it is well moisturized, protected and looking clean.
