Maintaining your swimming pool’s water circulation is a vital part of the cleaning process. Good circulation aids in proper distribution of sanitisers and filtration of the water. This process will remove dead spots and prevent algae and other debris from accumulating. Without effective water flow, your pool will be consistently dirty and you’ll be forced to clean it manually.
Below are some tips to improve circulation in your swimming pool:
• Make sure your swimming pool skimmers and drains are pulling water into the filter system. Check this by placing your hand near the suction part below the skimmer baskets.
• Adjust the angle of your return jets to 7 or 4 o’clock, and make sure all your jets are angled in the same direction to let your pool water to swirl away from your skimmers. If you have jets on your pools steps, angle them towards the top step so it will remove dirt off of the lower steps.
• Ensure your pressure gauge is running at normal pressure. You should also feel your return jets for high water pressure.
• Brush your pool’s dead spots, which are the areas of the pool that don’t receive much circulation due to being located far from the jets.
