We took a moment to ask Warren Anderson the Co-Founder of Endless Spas & Pools about the Endless Spa Company and what it means to be the Best Spa Retailer of Australia:
How did you a start Endless Spas?
Endless Spas started after I ended a financial partnership to purchase another original spa company some 35 years ago. The original partner forced me cancel the agreement and go it alone. It was then I developed the Original Endless Swim Sp
What is the most dramatic change the company has gone through over the last 25+ years?
The most dramatic change to the company over the 25 years was the employment of two marketing managers. The company more than tripled its turnover within 2 years, and allowed Jenny and myself to work on the business and direct these two guys to continue to promote sales.
What are you most passionate about? What keeps you going in the business?
I am competitive by nature and love winning, in doing so you have to develop new products which are innovative and way ahead of the competitors in design and marketability. This is what small business is about winning your share of the market.
Do you have a spa yourself?
I do have a spa, a salt water 3 pump portable which I use at least 4 times a week for therapeutic benefits. With a trade background my body really notices when I don’t have a spa.
Joel, Rachel and Jaclyn are now working in the business, do you enjoy working with your children?
I really enjoy working with my three children, image having the pleasure of walking through the front door most days and seeing your children who have grown up in the business now virtually running it along with my wife Jenny. Joel my eldest works extremely hard at sales and innovation and commercial contracts, he has basically taken over my role, Rachel now a mother of our two lovely grandchildren still works 3 days a week in direct sales, originally with her marketing degree helped drive the sales and marketing for 10 years.
Then entered my youngest Jaclyn with another marketing degree and took over from Rach, She has been wonderful, having driven the sales through some of the worst times GFC and now setting record sales in 2015. How privileged am I?
What are the plans for Endless in 2016?
My goal for 2016 is to increase our market share in ground fibreglass swimming pools as well as selling more spa pools and franchise the Endless brand interstate.
The award for Best in Situ Spa was the Smooth Edge Grande Spa which is a brand new design, where did your inspiration come to develop such a unique model?
The design was innovation at its best and it’s something I am really proud of. 20 years ago we used to install into the ground 650 shells a year. Then came the portable spa and we were lucky to install 20 -30. With EdgeCap Technology™ it has now allowed the clients to get the look of a in ground concrete spa pool with all the features of the Acrylic contoured seating spa without compromising on hydrotherapy.
What are your staff’s best attributes?
I am fortunate over the journey to have a small business that has been able to employ some really talented staff and more importantly, keep them for long periods. This says a lot to what the company has to offer with 7 current employees with over ten years’ service.
Without the back up of these employee’s we would definitely struggle to run this great business and to be awarded best in Australia!!
