Hydrotherapy is one of the major reasons why people invest in a spa. It is important to understand what the jets are there for and what benefits they provide. A major mistake people can make according to the E-Book “7 Mistakes People Make When Purchasing a Spa” written by Warren Anderson, is choosing a spa on the number of jets alone.
The more jets in a spa do not mean that the hydrotherapy massage will be superior or comparable to a spa with fewer jets. The purpose of jets is to massage your muscles, nothing more or nothing less. In fact, for more jets to fit in a spa means that the jet size will need to significantly decrease, as there is only so much room in a spa shell. You’ll notice spas that have 80 plus jets tend to have tiny jets which can at times irritate the skin, nor provide a great massage. Each muscle in your body responds differently, and requires different types of pressure.
As each person is different and has preference on jet pressure we recommend a spa that provides individual flow adjustment to each jet. That way all family members can enjoy the hydrotherapy benefits.
Look for a spa that has therapeutic purpose, a combination of small and larger sized jets, and strategic positioning of those jets.
