As a spa owner, you know that your spa requires chemicals. If you don’t add anything to the spa you won’t be able to use it. The water will become cloudy and smelly overtime. Spa chemicals prevent these occurrences and ultimately make the water safe for spa users.
Used correctly and with quality branded chemicals, the water will remain crystal clear for long periods of time. More importantly, bacteria and other harmful organisms will not make the water unsafe for bathers.
Our spas need sanitising, oxidising and balancing. But what does all that mean? You will find the answer below:
Sanitiser for Sanitising – Bacteria and other harmful matter are attacked and killed by chlorine, bromine or Poppits sanosil
Oxidiser for Oxidising – overtime organic matter such as dead skin, body fats, cosmetics and body lotions accumulate in the spa making the water cloudy. When this matter combines with the chlorine, chloramines are created. Chloramines increase the typical “chlorine smell” and can potentially cause irritation to your eyes and skin. By shocking the water (oxidising) we enable the chloramines are escape the spa water, leaving behind clean, clear water. (Endless Spa Hot Tip: always ensure you leave your spa cover off whilst oxidising your spa. If the cover is left on the chloramines will hit the top of the cover and re-enter the spa water).
pH Balancing for Water Balance: low pH (to acidic) water can damage the spa equipment and irritate sensitive skin. High pH (alkaline) can cause stains and deposits in the spa. Test your pH levels and ensure they are in the OK range (on your spa test strips) to avoid these problems. There are chemicals available to increase and decrease pH levels to maintain perfect water balance.
By understanding how the chemicals in your spa work hopefully makes the entire spa experience easy and enjoyable for the entire family! See our Online Store for all your spa chemicals including sanitiser, oxidiser and spa balancing products.
